Learners will build and program a digital thermometer that can measure temperatures in the range of -55 °C to 125 °C. Each learner will receive all the electronic components necessary to complete their build and will then receive an introduction on how to program text to the computer screen from the Arduino. Learners will then use this thermometer to identify whether various reactions are exothermic or endothermic and will then cover graphical drawing skills as well as linear equations.
This kit contains all the components necessary to build the digital thermometer. The chemicals chosen for the reactions are commonly utilized in schools and should be available in the science labs. Each kit contains enough equipment for 10 teams of 1-3 learners per group.
